NHL Shootouts 2.81 Deployment ========== The NHL Shootouts folder contains an executable file (NHLShootouts.exe), a database file (NHLSHOOTOUTS.FDB), several DLL files, and NHLShootouts.ini. The text files License.txt and ReadMe.txt are also included. No other files are necessary to run the software. Everything is encapsulated in the NHL Shootouts folder, and nothing is written to the Windows registry. Removing The Software ===================== To remove the NHL Shootouts software, use the item labeled "Add or Remove Programs" in the Windows Control Panel. After doing so, the NHL Shootouts folder may still remain. You may simply delete the NHL Shootouts folder at this point. Updates ======= Updates for the NHL Shootouts software and database may be obtained from the website www.nhlshootouts.com. However, it is much simpler to let the software download the updates for you. To get automatic database updates, run the NHL Shootouts software, click on the Options menu, and click on the menu item labeled "Check for database update at startup." A check mark will appear next to the menu item to indicate that this feature is now enabled. Whenever the NHL Shootouts software is started, it will now check for a database update. If one is available, you will be asked if you want to download it. After the database update is downloaded, you may close the Download window and continue using the NHL Shootouts software. You may also check for database updates manually by clicking on the menu item labeled "Check for database update now." You may check for software updates by clicking on the menu item labeled "Check for software update now." The software update is downloaded as a self-extracting executable file which should not be run until after the NHL Shootouts software is shut down. Known Issues ============ • The NHL Shootouts software must be installed on a local drive, not a network drive. This restriction is imposed by the Firebird database platform used by the NHL Shootouts software. • The NHL Shootouts software is not guaranteed to function properly on a 64-bit operating system. The vast majority of users have a 32-bit operating system. Bug Reports =========== All bug reports regarding the NHL Shootouts software should be emailed to webmaster@nhlshootouts.com. Questions, comments, and suggestions are also welcome. Version History =============== 2.8.1.1 February 24, 2010 • The All Shooters window was not displaying the GDG column if a country was selected as a filter. • The All Goalies window was not displaying the Shootouts column if a country was selected as a filter. • Fixed a printing defect in which the text within an arbitrary cell was unnecessarily wrapped to a second line within the cell. • All windows will print with the mode (landscape or portrait) specified in the Printing Preferences window in the Windows Control Panel.
